Capturing the glamour of the roaring twenties

Retro style portrait gallery
When you think of the Roaring Twenties, images of elegance, glamour and vintage style often come to mind. It was an era defined by bold fashion, confidence and a sense of excitement.
To recreate that feeling, model Emily White and I took to the streets of London. Rather than using grand locations, we chose the streets around Lambeth as our backdrop. This helped maintain a more authentic, working-class atmosphere while still reflecting the spirit of the period.
A range of photographic techniques were used throughout the shoot, including leading lines, framing and the use of foreground objects. These elements help guide the viewer's eye through
the image, add depth and create more visually engaging compositions.
In post-production, I enhanced the retro aesthetic by leaning into warm, golden tones. These rich colours helped create a vintage feel and added a touch of glamour reminiscent of classic photographs from the era.
