Fisheye lens photography of the UK capitals backlash against the US President

Back in September 2025, you may recall the US President making a state visit to the UK? King Charles III welcomed him at Windsor Castle with all the pomp and pageantry.

Even though he received a warm welcome in the castle, Londoners weren't as thrilled. Thousands of people gathered around the city to protest against the controversial US leader. Organised by the Stop Trump Coalition, the event had a festival like atmosphere with a sprinkle of British humour the capital is known for. Here is a documentary photo collection I made that day.

How these images were created

You've probably noticed that all the photos were taken with a fisheye lens. I went with this choice because it helped accommodate the tight spaces between people in the crowds. The wide angle forced me get up close to my subjects and include the surrounding scenery. This way, London's streets and buildings add context to the shots.

I also chose to shoot from a low angle to make sure the observer has no choice but to respect the people depicted.

Finally, I edited the images in black and white to remove any distracting colours.
