Photo gallery - Portrait shoot with N Photo magazine

There's nothing quite like soaking up 15 minutes of fame. A couple of years ago, I got the chance to shine in the photography magazine, N-Photo. In March 2023, they published a 10-page article about my experience learning from a pro portrait photographer, Darren Boyd.

I picked up a lot from Darren's expertise. Looking back, he was super insightful, and I got some real hands-on experience with a bunch of tips and tricks. These include:

• Using the environment to frame my subject (like leading lines, blurred foregrounds, framing with pillars, etc.)

• Communicating with my model to get the best results

• Making the most of natural light

• Turning distractions to my advantage (like people walking into the scene)

We checked out a brutalist housing estate in London to find the perfect spots that would really bring our urban story to life. This meant using the surroundings to nail the lighting and position the model just right with the background elements.

I'm super proud of how these pictures came out, and they've totally reignited my love for portrait photography, something I've explored ever since.
