Stepping behind he scenes in creating a ghostly still life set up

Looking to get into the spirit of All Hallow's Eve this October? Grab your camera and set up a spooky scene right in your home or garden! Check out the video above for tips on how to dive into some Halloween toy photography.

As you'll notice, crafting your own horror scene is actually pretty simple. With a little creativity and a wide aperture, you'll be creating your own eerie narrative in no time.

.

Props

I set up a super simple arrangement on a garden picnic table. If you're thinking about doing something like this, you might want to use these props:

  • Ghost toy figure

  • Mini plastic modle pumpkins

  • Soil for the ground

  • Twigs to appear as trees

  • Lollipop sticks to look like the gravestone

The eerie mist was actually real smoke. If you decide to go this route, make sure you're responsible. Safer options are spray fog or baby powder.

And here's how the final result looks like in motion.

Glowing ghost figurine on dark soil surrounded by small pumpkins, with blurred white cross in the background; eerie, Halloween theme.

Like what you see?
